Twins for the Soldier American Heroes Rochelle Alers Books Reviews

  • Army Ranger Leland “Lee” Remington leaves the military to return to Wickham Falls, West Virginia, after he receives his sobbing sister’s phone call. Viviana closed down the boardinghouse after her live-in boyfriend stole her identity and swindled her out of her inheritance. The house is about to be seized by the county because of delinquent property taxes and she is being sued for large purchases she had never authorized. Lee plans to remodel the boardinghouse and reopen as a B&B within a year. First step is to take care of Viviana’s debt. The person Lee expects to see with his sister is his estranged father, Emery. On the plus side, he also runs into Angela Mitchell, his best friend’s widow and the lady he has been in love with since high school.

Angela is the mother of two toddler twins. She has been living with her mother-in-law since her husband’s death. Problem is that Joyce has a controlling personality and is beginning to undermine her parental decisions when it comes to the twins. It is time for a change of address. Joyce is also vocal about her feelings when it comes to Lee and his family. Since Angela and Lee are starting to date, that address change needs to happen sooner rather than later.

*** TWO AND A HALF STARS! I normally do not bother to write up a review for any title that does not receive at least three stars from me; however, this one came mighty close to that three star mark so I decided to do one. Lee’s past may have been hard, but in this story he gets everything he could ever hope for, all the way down to winning the VA competition. For me, everything was way too easy. He talks Angela into dating him, she falls for him, he and the twins get along fabulously, he asks her to marry too quickly and she agrees, the kids call him “Daddy” almost immediately – the list goes on. There is not enough conflict to keep me riveted. Interested, yes. But not riveted. The story is well written overall and is a great way to spend a rainy evening. Just do not expect any surprises. ***

  • I enjoyed this book despite numerous typos. It needed a little better editing.

The story is fairly simple. Gallant brother, Lee, comes home to help his sister. He sees the girl he's loved since high school. Angela is a young widow with two children. She's happy to see he long time friend. Over a short time, their relationship grows to a mutual love.

The ending is good and I like that they work out their problems and with others. I like this series.
  • I really loved the story & the characters really had a lot of complicated situations to overcome & the next book comes out in May & I plan to purchase it. I am happy for Angela & Leland & now the town can see that Lee is nothing like his Father & his sister maybe can now find love & they can finally find that dog Marcus & his accomplice & all the victims can find a little justice.
  • I really enjoyed this latest edition in the Wickham Falls series and also getting to catch up on the Wainwright’s. Rochelle Alers does not disappoint. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
  • Not our typical Rochelle Alers book. the story line and the plot were just okay'. This book was like a fairy tale come true book. It reminded me of those 'boy meets girl", "boy falls in love", "boy and girl live happily ever after" Hallmark movies. No suspense, no drama, just a book I expected better. But I should have known better as this entire ' American Heroes" series has been a little bland and unexciting
  • I love this author. The story about Leland and Angela is a great love story that takes 15 years to become a reality. It shows the bond of three friends from different backgrounds become friends that last a lifetime. It just shows that life is short and that you never know how life will turn out.... Looking forward to read more about them in the future.....
  • Just the right touch of romance within the context of a love story. I very much appreciate the balance between a good storyline, character development, and intrigue sprinkled with romance.

Rochelle never fails to develop a great story , warm characters, believable characters and a wonderful setting. I always enjoy her books!
  • Leland and Angela , you always want to be able to recapture what you once held so dear. In this story you get to see a ranger (Leland) return home to help family (Vivian) only to discover his opportunity to reveal his love for a woman (Angela) who he felt was lose to him forever.
