- Texas Ranger Jacob Dalton befriended a young orphan who he watched over - Two Bits since she was a young child, as she continued to grow into a feisty young woman. Nell was an orphaned headstrong child taken in by Fat Alice an old madam who helped raise Nell who also had her very own ranger she could turn to when things got tough. This is an adventurous and soul stirring story.

- I have become a huge fan of Jodi Thomas books. This is book four of "The Wife Lottery" and is a story of a young lady raised in a whore house and a Texas Ranger, who becomes her guardian angel. Nell is injured in an ambush and refuses to become a burden on Jacob. She decides to buy herself a husband to handle the properties that she has inherited and the reaction from Jacob is heartwarming.
Jodi Thomas makes 1800's Texas come alive and you can't help but admire all of the women (real or fiction) that helped settle that state. Her books make you laugh and cry. I have problems putting any of her books down until I have finished them. Jodi is now one of my favorite authors and I can't wait until her new books come out. - I am a voracious reader. I love western romance books. I had not read any of this author's books before, I started with the first in the series, I loved them All!! Many times it made me laugh out loud. The stories and characters were unforgettable. Thank you for a great read., Jodi Thomas! I highly recommend this book to anyone.
- The characters were interesting. They all had stories. Some things left hanging made me wonder what happened eventually, but life is never tied in a neat package.
- I liked it but I feel like it never got up to full steam as the others in this series. And the steamy scenes left me wanted something other than Al the potential for pain.
- I love seeing two forces learn to work together, learning to accept the love they have for each other and overcome. Jodi Thomas does that in this book. As always she paints a beautiful picture of the west back in that time and the many types of individuals you could find roaming around. I have read this book many times and still enjoy it.
- I LOVED THESE BOOKS....
I seriously cannot rave enough about JODI THOMAS'S books
The first one is as good as the second,third, fourth as many as she has written ....LOL )
Any of her book's or series is just as interesting as the first one you begin reading .
still any excellent reading I would recommend any and all JODI THOMAS Books.
Once you read just one of her books ) you just wont want to ever stop ,
