Skip Through the Seasons SeekAndFind Books Stella Blackstone Maria Carluccio Books Reviews

  • I think this book is great! The story itself is a simple one but the pictures show brush strokes, papers pieced together, sand glued to pages and vibrant colors. It is beautifully illustrated.
  • I ordered this book along with the other one titled "Jump into January" by the same author since my son like the hide and seek feature so much. Its a fun book but I wanted to let others know that the content of 'Jump into January' and "Skip through the Seasons" are the same. So no need to buy both. Also in "Skip through the seasons" no actual mention is made to the seasons other than the picture references to the seasons. The one difference is that in "Skip through the seasons" has a section at the end explaining the origin of the months, a short account of what makes the seasons, a few different calenders types through the ages and the names of days of the week in other languages.
  • My kids love it!
  • The book is very nice with beautiful illustrations and abundant seek and find opportunities. The end of the book has very good content for older kids.
  • Not only does Skip through the Seasons introduce the seasons and the months, but it's also a search and find book with a list of things for children to look for in the illustrations. This is a great way for children to practice their visual literacy skills, and its fun to see what you can find. Somehow it's quite satisfying to find everything on the list. Each list focuses on items specific to the season and the month which helps create connections in children's minds. At the end of the book is additional information about different calendars, where the month names came from, the source of the seasons, and the days of the week in six different languages. This book is both fun and educational.
  • I got this book in a monthly subscription box. It is okay my daughter 5 lost interest in the seek and find aspect after only 5 pages. Some of the items you are to find are small, blurry and obscure. My personal favorite is on the January page and you get to look for the PIPE and then the SMOKE coming out of the pipe. Are you kidding me??? There is also smoke coming from the house chimney. Either way I thought it was in poor taste to have a pipe in the book that the child has to look for.
It is not a book I would have chosen.
  • What a sweet gift to give my niece for her 5th birthday. The pictures are beautiful and she will have such fun trying to find all the "hidden items". The message is clear and concise. What a great children's book!
  • this book is very good for beginning reading. children they can play i spy
with the seasons. i would however not recommend for children over 3 years of age.
